The Sand filled Mattress is delivered in rolls which can be easily transported to site. Laid with parallel tubular sections running
down the slope, each are hydraulically filled with sand through the top openings. The sand is introduced through a small opper
and washed down with water pumped from the waterway or impoundment. Adjacent rolls of Sand Filled GeoMattress are joined
by seaming on site. Finally, the Sand Filled Mattress is anchored in a trench at the top of the slope.

1. Pneumatic Material Filling
■ Suitable for large areas of Double Layer Tubular GeoMattress have to be installed.
■ Sand is blown through a flexible hose into the tubes using compressor and sand hopper with feeder.
2. Dry Material Filling
■ Suitable for large areas where can be filled in a dry condition.
■ Steel or PVC pipe is inserted into the GeoMattress tube, sand is dropped through the fill-opening on the pipe and
subsequently rammer down with a concrete rammer, Compacted sand ballast inside GeoMattress is the advantage
of this method.
3. Wet Material Filling
■ The wet material filling system is similar to the dry filling method using rammer. The sand is being washed down by a water
jet. This will provides a more continuous process with well compacted sand ballast in the GeoMattress.
It is advised to anchor the mats on top of the slope in a trench when GeoMattress is being used on steep slopes or in the areas with strong currents process with well compacted sand ballast in the GeoMattress.
